A little bit about me...

I have baked as long as I can remember. The love began with the person who taught me to bake, my darling Grandma Dot. She was stoic, with a naughty sense of humour and a recipe for every occasion. I loved baking as much as she did - every part of it. The smell of butter on your hands, the careful measurement of ingredients, the whirring of the mixmaster, the gentle mixing of batter… the list goes on. But far and away the best part was the time we spent together in her little sunlit kitchen making treats for those nearest and dearest. 

It all began a couple of years ago when I kept being asked by friends for my recipes. I thought, maybe I could start my own baking blog and take some photographs… how hard could it be? Despite the hard work and the countless hours of baking, recipe developing, styling and photographing in my little kitchen, it has only affirmed one thing... I love it!

I really hope my simple, delicious recipes inspire you to bake… just give them a go … it brings such joy.
